Anyone
who lives away from their family and has been faced with the grave
illness or the death of a family member understands the challenges
faced. Being with a loved one in their final days or traveling to
a funeral is very important. One of the major challenges can sometimes
be Air Transportation. Some airlines offer bereavement fares, but
many times these are just as expensive as a normal fare and the
paperwork process can sometimes be overwhelming and painful.

On
Angels Wings, a ministry of CRB, was created to help in these
difficult situations.
| How
does it work? |
Members
of CRB, “Angels”, who have excess air miles, have agreed
to donate miles for the situations mentioned above. All you need
to do is call or send an email to Gerry Moffett and advise him of
your need. Remember, this ministry is for the grave illness or death
of an immediate family member. Please provide Gerry Moffet ( gerry@thechurchatrb.org
) with the following information:
1) Destination
2) Desired Travel dates
3) name and age of traveler(s)
4) your contact information
*You may be
responsible to pay a small processing fee that some airlines require.
*Mileage Award tickets are limited to 1 per family.

Are
award tickets always available?
|
No. It is possible that
award travel is not available for several reasons. Because of this,
and to help ease your travel expense, an alternative is being offered
through CRB to its members to purchase Incentive Flight Certificates.
The price of these tickets is $299 and is valid within the 48 contiguous
United States and Canada. You will need to purchase these through
CRB. (The church receives no benefit from this.)**
***Incentive tickets are limited to 4 per family
Please be
aware that On Angels Wings is not a travel agency. We are just trying
to help relieve some of the burden during an already difficult situation.

How you
can help.
|
If
you have excessive air miles there are two ways that you can help.
1) You can be on our email list of donors. When you are contacted
you will be given the opportunity to be an “angel “
to someone in need by providing an awards ticket. In order to be
on that list we ask that you be willing to donate at least one ticket
or mileage equivalent per year. The second way that you can help
is to donate miles to On Angels Wings. There is no minimum donation
and we will accept miles from any airline.

my mileage gift tax deductible? |
Please check
with your accountant.

Some
restrictions apply:
*If
you already belong to a mileage program, we ask that you use your mileage
awards first.
**If
applicable, Incentive Flight Certificate prices include a 7.5% federal
excise tax. All other taxes and fees applicable to the passenger's itinerary,
including passenger facility charges, federal excise segment taxes and
security service fee will be calculated and assessed at the time of ticketing
and will be the responsibility of the passenger. These certificates are
nonrefundable and an assessment of $100.00 will be charged for any lost
flight certificates. These certificates require reservations a minimum
of 3 days before departure and must be booked in (N) inventory. A two
night or a Saturday night stay over is required.
