Not A Fan

Are you a fan or a follower of Jesus Christ? The dictionary defines “fan” as “an enthusiastic admirer.” Fans want to be close enough to Jesus to get all the benefits, but not so close that it requires sacrifice. Jesus was never interested in having admirers.... He called us to follow. He never called us to cheer.... He called us to change the world! Discover what it really means to call yourself a “Christian.”

Fan or Follower

February 11|12
Religion or Relationship--Knowledge or Intimacy--Belief or Commitment--FAN OR FOLLOWER? Don't brush off the question. Think about it. REALLY THINK ABOUT IT, because if you haven't yet, it’s time for the DTR talk. (That means determine the relationship for those of you without teenagers!) Is Jesus an interference in your life or is He your LIFE? Are you a FAN OR FOLLOWER?

Altar'd States

February 18|19
Every person has a one and only love in their life. It’s our responsibility to know what or who that is. Something is on the throne…someone is first in our life and, until Jesus is on the altar of our heart, our life will be less than what God promised it could be. Learn how to walk away from the wrong altar and fall down before the right one.

You Are Here

February 25|26
We have the power to pick the ending of our life by the choices we make today. Learn how to evaluate the choices we make in light of the life we'd like to have before we meet Jesus. Too many Christians are practical atheists – they say they believe in Jesus but they live like they don’t. Jesus always puts the issue back on people so they can evaluate for themselves the choices they make.

Excuse Me!

March 3|4
If we want to be a follower of Jesus and not a fan, Jesus lays out some high expectations for us, like those in Luke 9:57-62. What exactly does He mean that the dead should bury their own dead?  I don’t know about you, but it’s one of the questions I want to ask Jesus when I get to Heaven.  And I do have more!  Excuse me, Jesus, I have a question…

Potential Side Effects

March 10|11
Even the best things have hazardous side effects to guard against. Ever see someone who, the closer they get to Jesus, the more judgmental they become? This message will examine the side effects of following Jesus and how to stay true to his character. Christians need to stay humble about being saved!
