Missions: Changing the World Locally and Abroad

Our Next Project: TJ Emmanual Orphanage Back To School

Join CRB for our annual Back to School Drive for the 90 orphan boys at the TJ Emmanual Orphanage.  You can help in three different ways:  Tuition ($100), School Uniforms ($60) or a Backpack filled with Back to School Supplies. We'll have a table in the lobby after services July 19-August 3 - stop by to sign up and find out more details.  All backpacks and/or checks need to be returned to CRB by August 2/3.  For more info, please touch base with Martina Day in the lobby or contact her at martina_day@hotmail.com / 858.248.0618.

We'll also be having a TJ Orphanage Clothing Drive for the boys August 2/3.  We're looking for new or gently used pants and shirts for boys ages 5-18.  Please bring these items with you to service on that weekend.  Unfortunately we are unable to accept any other types of items (bedding, toys, etc) for the boys at this time.

TJ Emmanual Orphanage Next Trip TBD
Every month or so, we head down to the orphanage to spend the day with the 90+ orphan boys who live at the Emmanuel Orphanage. During our visit, we do everything from feeding them lunch, playing games and even helping with small fix-it or painting projects. Typically we meet at CRB and leave around 8:30am and return between 4-5pm. We follow each other down, pick up insurance on the way, and then cross the border. For these trips, As of January 1, 2008, everyone needs a Passport to cross the border. Also bring a bag lunch/drink for the day. For anyone under 18, you’ll also need a permission slip. Download the permission slip For more info or to sign up, contact Martina Day at martina_day@hotmail.com / 858.248.0618.

Set Free Ministries
Set Free is committed to reaching out to the homeless, addicted and hopeless. It strives to meet the physical needs of people while teaching them the skills they need to be a positive influence in their families. As they work through a year-long discipleship program, the ministry communicates the transformative power of Christ available to everyone, no matter what their circumstances. CRB is actively involved with both the El Cajon facility for Men, Women and families and their North County House for Women. We provide ongoing support, special events such as food and clothing drives and have a weekly Bible study for the women at Set Free House North County.

Angel Tree
“When a parent does a crime, the whole family does time.” Right now, an estimated 2,000,000 kids have a mom or dad in prison. The number is huge – but so is the opportunity. Last year, nation-wide, 625,000 of these children received Christmas presents from their incarcerated parents – setting into motion a process of healing.
At Christmas, CRB takes part in the Angel Tree program and provides gifts to children right here in San Diego. By reaching out to the “least of these”, we can break the cycle that puts prisoners’ children at risk of one day being in prison themselves.

Interfaith Community Services
brings together various faith communities in a united effort to address the needs of low-income, homeless and marginalized populations. It operates many programs that offer tools and resources to people in crisis, helping to stabilize and rebuild their lives.
