Love is Elementary
What could be more important than investing in our youth?  Please join the CRB team as we become the hands and feet of JESUS in the classrooms of Midland Elementary School.   Together we can help relieve the stress of growing class size, and show Midland that we care.
• Oct-June, Tuesdays 9:00am-11:00am.  We’ll have the opportunity to meet for coffee (before or after) for a short social time.
• Work with small groups of children, prep activities for teachers….. you choose!
• Build relationships with teachers, students, and staff at Midland, and one another!
For more information, please contact Lori Kimball at 858 705-1717 / lkimball1@san.rr.com.

Community Care and Prayer
Have you ever felt alone and didn’t know where to turn?  Perhaps you’ve wanted to help others who are struggling to make ends meet with no support system close by.   Community Care and Prayer provides a place for low income families to receive practical and spiritual encouragement.

CRB facilitates a neighborhood food pantry in cooperation with three neighboring churches.  The pantry is held on the third Thursday of every month at Resurrection Community Church in Poway. Contact Aimee Cochran at aimee@thechurchatrb.org / 858.592.2434  to volunteer.

Backyard Produce Donations
TOO MUCH ZUCCHINI?!!! Your excess can bless a family that can not afford to buy fresh fruits and veggetables. Donate backyard produce to help local families stretch their food budget. Drop off fruits/vegetables on the back patio at CRB on the third Thursday of each month, between 7:00am - 3:00pm. First drop off date August 19. More info at http://backyard-produce-project.wikispaces.com.

TRADE as ONE Fair Trade Market
Trade as One is a fair trade organization that connects American churchgoers to the working poor all over the world. Just by purchasing products from fair trade sources, you can help reduce slavery, child labor and prostitution.    It’s not charity, nor pity, but it’s a sustainable way to break cycles of poverty and dependency.  SHOP AT TRADE AS ONE.

CRB Order Update
So far CRB has completed 147 orders for about $9566 in Fair Trade sales! That's roughly 1900 hours of employment created for the poor in just one weekend at CRB! Thank you so much for participating and making this event a success

Hands of Hope Homeless Outreach Ministry
Downtown San Diego – every 2nd & 4th Mondays
Join us as our teams reach out to our homeless neighbors in San Diego County. We show the love of Christ by providing both practical and spiritual support. As the “hands and feet of Jesus” we serve them practically by meeting their immediate needs for daily living essentials. We also point the way to the Savior through our love, care and concern. We meet spiritual needs by offering prayer support, or our own personal testimonies. There are three ways to help: donate (goods), underwrite (costs) or join (us on the streets). Contact Lauren Danver at
crb.handsofhope@gmail.com for more information.  Click here for photos of our care kit packing team.

Interfaith Community Services - Feeding Homeless Veterans
Interfaith Community Services brings together various faith communities in a united effort to address the needs of homeless veterans, helping to stabilize and rebuild their lives.  CRB coordinates a team serving meals on the 2nd Saturday of every month.  You may participate one time or sign up for an ongoing rotation.  To learn more, contact Phil and Tina Bozarth at helpingthehomeless01@yahoo.com / 858.829.6180.

Living Water - Salvation Army Feeding the Homeless
Being homeless is not always a choice… feeding the homeless is. Over the last few years in San Diego, the number of people living on the streets without a home or a regular meal has doubled. Help us feed the homeless by serving meals the fourth Monday of the month, or prepping food. No skills are needed, just a caring heart. Families, individuals, junior high and high school students and small groups are welcome to participate.
Contact Phil and Tina Bozarth at
helpingthehomeless01@yahoo.com / 858.829.6180.

East County Transitional Living Center (Formerly Set Free Ministries)
I am worth loving.  I am not broken.  I love who I am.  For those wracked by homelessness and addiction, believing these words seems impossible.  East County Transitional Living Center strives to meet physical needs while teaching skills needed to be a positive influence in their families. They learn that Jesus loves us, no matter who we are or what we’ve done.  CRB is actively involved with the El Cajon facility for Men, Women and Families and the North County House for Women.  Help make someone whole.  Volunteer to guide a basic men’s or women’s bible study or find out how you can donate food or clothing.  If you know the love of the Lord, you are qualified.  Contact Aimee Cochran at aimee@thechurchatrb.org / 858.592.2434 x324.

Stand Up for Kids
Being homeless isn’t just a grown up problem.  Teenagers as young as 13 are on the streets and without the love and guidance we so often take for granted.  Stand Up for Kids is a 100% volunteer run, independent organization.  They focus on reaching out to homeless teens to help them complete their education and get off the streets.  How can you get involved?  CRB is forming teams to help provide materials (clothing, toiletries, food, books, etc.), prepare and serve meals, or even get trained to go out and find these kids and begin loving them back into society…  To stand up and help, contact Denise Duhachek at dwright003@cox.net  or 619-504-9623

Repair & Restore
What does it take to rebuild the world?  A carpenter named Jesus did it with just two crossbeams and three nails.  The R&R team provides opportunities for those who like to be hands-on while serving as well as those who are skilled in a trade.  Some of the projects require handy-work skills while others just need a willing pair of hands.  The range of projects may include patching, repairing, painting, wallpapering, gardening, pest control, plumbing, electrical, and more.  Some projects work well with a group of volunteers and others can be done by just 1 or 2 people.  Be a part of more than just a fix it project.  Get involved with the R&R team and you can help repair and restore lives.  Contact Aimee Cochran at aimee@thechurchatrb.org / 858.592.2434  to volunteer.
